Hi, I hope you've
had a good week. I'd like to announce last
month's free gift winner ... Julie Poling in Indiana! You can read her

so another Stitch has a new home...
Well, in other news, we've been having some challenges and sadness
around here dealing with fraudulent activity at the website (that
we incur charges for!), having my daughter sick with a fever and
staying home from school (Thank God she's better and back to
school now after 3 days of being in the grip of a fever) ... and the
worse yet...
...the sad news of the death of a special little girl, one of our
nieces - elementary school aged- she had been suffering with a
brain tumor for several years. Our thoughts and prayers are
with her parents and all others who knew and loved her...
When we think of that, all the other "stuff" pales in comparison.
So- take time today to remember and connect with those you know
and love... and appreciate the small miracles, the joys and
beauties
of everyday life.
Thanks for reading, for being here for me and for helping Giftsprings
grow... I look forward to hearing from you when you can write...

Here are some quick home and family tips I'd like to share with
you...
Parenting/Family Tip:
Schedule a regular rent-a-movie or play-a-game and order in
pizza for dinner night for you all to enjoy. Do it once a week or
twice a month at least - the same night per week works best-
and give it an official sounding name like this- "Fridays will now
be movie and pizza family night". It's important to put the
"family"
part in the name. Kids like to latch on to that and even start to ask
or eagerly remind you about "family night".
Relationship Tip:
During dinner with your partner ask them to tell you "what's one
good thing that happened today and what's one not-so-good
thing
that happened?" Then you tell them one good and one not-so-good
thing that happened in your day afterwards as well. This is a good
communication jump-starter. (Works with the kids too).
Online Shopping Tip:
Make use of coupon codes and coupons. There are many websites
that offer discounts and coupon codes you can use at checkout.
You may find one by subscribing to a newsletter/ezine, by checking
out the website's storefront page or their special promotions area,
some advertise periodic special coupon discounts in their ezines only
to their subscribers, you can join or get familiar with some coupon
sites (but even though they list many stores, there are many others
that are not represented at any particular one of those types of
coupon sites), and you can also try searching your favorite search
engine for the store name and the word coupon to see if anyone
has posted any coupon code.
Also, some stores try to encourage a departing visitor with a
sort
of last chance offer to them, so keep your eyes out for something
like that as well. How? Leave the website on purpose to see if
any extra offers pop up today, just in case, prior to you ordering
something you're interested in getting. If there isn't any extra
departing coupon that's OK, but at least you checked it out. Now
just go back to the website and place your order. Be careful about
going back and forth too much though, because some websites
may lose your order if you already had started placing it while
you go back and forth. Also, you may miss some offers, discounts,
coupon offers, if you have zappers in place to prevent pop-ups
while you're surfing- so if you're interested in saving more money,
you may want to see those pop-ups and disable your zapper
especially when visiting your favorite websites or when shopping
for something particular that you may purchase that day.
Home Decorating / Management Tip:
Give a small room in your home the appearance of being more
spacious by installing mirrors on at least one or two walls.
Mirrors can be pretty simple types, line an entire wall, go from
mid-wall (say just above the sofa for instance) to the ceiling or
be smaller accent and more ornate and decorative types.
The more mirrors you use, the greater the effect. Experiment
with it to see what pleases you the most!
Home Business / Internet Tip:
If you are thinking about starting an online business, read and learn
a lot about marketing and advertising online early on so you can
develop your ideas, website and approaches to your business in
the best possible ways from the beginning.
Personal Inspiration Tip:
Set your alarm 20 minutes earlier than when you "have" to get up
and do something that pleases you and lifts your spirit. Read a
few pages of a novel, take a relaxing longer shower or bath, go
for a walk, anything you can do in 15-20 minutes at that time of
day that will get you relaxed and feeling good.
