Engraved Stones - FAQ
How long will it take for me to get my engraved stone and where do you ship?
Typically it will take approximately between 3-4 weeks for you to receive your engraved stone/engraved rock in size ranges from "mini", "small", "medium", and through "large". However, it can take up to 4-5 weeks for you to receive sizes "pocket" or "extra-large" sizes. The above timeline includes production time, shipment, and freight time to the 'Ship To' destination. * We ship only to within the continental USA and via ground shipping. Also, IF your order is for a large quantity of stones, production time may be extended by additional days or weeks in order to produce/complete multi-stone orders, and varies depending on quantities ordered and other orders in queue for production already. Also, if rush shipping is available during checkout options, please note that rush shipping for engraved stones only cuts down the freight time after a stone ships. It does not rush production time normally during the non-holiday time frame during the calendar year. *Please contact us if you have a specific need-by date and we can check with the stone engravers about your specific case. Please note also that if we are nearing a holiday period, such as Christmas, special holiday ordering deadlines may be posted and apply to ensure shipment in time for holiday deliveries or we can check with the stone engravers production department to see if they can still meet your need by date. Where do the stones come from? Most of our larger engraved stones (for example, small, medium, large...) are crafted in the USA by stone engravers from a family owned business. The stone artisans take great care and pride in the selection of your engraved stone for your specific project, and into the quality of the stone engraving. Most rocks are river stones, typically gathered from river beds, remote shores, offshore islands, and/or other locations throughout the country. The Connecticut Blue stones are cut slabs that provide a smoother/flatter surface. When available, our smaller stones, such as pocket stones, may be domestic or imported stones. The Giftsprings support team also takes great care in the processing and tracking of the completion of your engraved stone order. Please contact us with any questions. We will be sure to contact you if we need any clarification with your order details as well. Will the lettering on the stones fade? Will it be easy to read the words and see the design? The lettering is permanently sandblasted into the stone, we use a high grade exterior paint which should last for years to come. The easiest to see and read color choice is black, and this is included standard in your engraved stone preparation. Ease of reading or seeing the design on any stone will otherwise partially depend on the particular stone's coloring and the lighting angles upon the stone. What is the process used to engrave the stones? The artisans who engrave the stones are detail oriented and scrupulous with their work of engraving each stone. The painstaking process starts with design and measurement. Selection of the stone for the project is next. Then, depending on the design and the customer's needs, sandblasting techniques and/or hand engraving are used to get the message and design carved into the stone. Will my stone look just like the photo? Each stone is natural, different and unique. They come in different shapes, sizes and colors. You are ordering the approximate size across in inches of the stone that you want. But your stone may be somewhat rounder, flatter, lighter or darker color, or may be a different color. River rock stones come in different colors such as grays, blues, reds, and the shape and color you receive will be random. Also, no two natural rocks will be the same. Natural stones and rocks also have their own unique imperfections and "flaws." Finally, your engraved stone will look different depending on the text and design you select, including your choices for font of text and/or which graphic(s)/image(s) will be engraved on your stone. How do I order one? First, decide on the approximate size of the stone you want. This will be determined by its use, and what you want to put on it. We have several sizes. Then, follow the rest of the steps below to complete your order. (You may wish to read the steps below first before starting your order so you can familiarize yourself with the location of our "basket contents" and "checkout" buttons.)
2. The first selection is to specify the font you want any text written in. You can use the button to view and select the fonts available. 3. Each stone has a shipping and handling charge associated with it. This replaces the normal shipping charges for that stone. If you order just engraved stones, you will see no additional shipping charges. If you include additional items in your order, you will see shipping options and charges that are appropriate for just those items. 4. The next one is to select an image, if you want one. Once again, you can use the button to browse through our gallery of images. When you find one you like, just click on the image. 5. Following that, enter any message you would like engraved. The amount of text depends on the size of stone you have selected, and is indicated. 6. Then, describe how you want the text and image arranged on the stone. 7. Finally, click on "Continue" and then to checkout find and click "Checkout" which is located along the upper blue navigational menu. If you'd like to Review What's In Your Shopping Basket or Adjust Quantities first, just click on "BASKET" found along the top blue navigational menu bar. Then To Complete Your Purchase, Click on "CHECKOUT", located along the top blue navigational menu bar. Are there any other fees or charges besides the price quoted by the stone size I select? Shipping fee is different by size of stone and is selected when you add your stone to your basket. There are no additional charges (except perhaps sales tax) added during checkout. Also, if you are requesting more text lines than usual or need a special image, logo or detail on your engraved stone, or are requesting something special/different than available options, you can simply email us with all details including ship to zip code and we will be happy to provide you with a price quote for your special engraved stone project. More lines fit on the larger engraved stone sizes. Please contact our support email address with your questions and we will see what the stone engravers can do for your specific need. Occasionally, we may contact a customer about a concern or clarification needed about their stone order, if so, we'll email you about it, so please check your email periodically while your stone order is in process in case we are trying to reach you. Can I request rush processing and preparation of my engraved stone or engraved rock? We may be able to accommodate this request. Please email us with your special need and we will see if we can assist with your request. If so, there would be an additional fee for expedited preparation and/or also for expedited freight/shipping. We would let you know what your costs would be so you can make an informed decision before ordering and how to pay for the additional charges needed in such a case. If rush shipping is available during checkout for engraved stones, it means the freight time will be less, but it will not rush the production time which normally remains at least 1 week to 2 weeks for sizes mini through extra large. Pocket stones can take longer. |
