Harvest Colors for Home Decor in the Fall

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that it’s Fall and nearing Winter in some parts of this great land, when you live in Florida, like we do, but indeed the weather forecaster brought me back to reality when he mentioned snow in the upper midwest and western coastal lands. Another hint of the Fall season is seeing those pumpkin patches springing up at the local churches and on the road sides, AND, the Halloween decorations sprucing up the yards…

If you want to be up to date and join in this Fall season’s decorating scheme, then you’ll likely want to include the following colors: orange hues, yellows, and green. Using corn/corn husks, pumpkins, vegetables, all those harvest related items, will carry you through not only Halloween, but also the Thanksgiving holiday. What a great time to focus on making your home even more cozy and casual with an emphasis on family, good food and good friends. Basically, you also want to emphasize the changing leaves and their beautiful colors, both outside and inside your home too.

Here are a few autumn home decor ideas available at http://www.giftsprings.com :

Home Decor Tip: Plants

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Use real or artificial plants as home decor accents that add impact and a fresh ambience to your room. You can use the plants strategically, too, to hide any ugly trouble spots in a room.

Live plants will work better if you are diligent in taking care of their watering and sun needs, while artificial plants work out best for folks that prefer a low maintenance alternative, or, for example, when decorating vacation homes or offices. (I almost wrote no maintenance, but, hey, once in a while you should dust off an artificial plant to keep it shiny and fresh looking, so let’s say it’s low maintenance.)

Giftsprings offers some flowering artificial plants that you might like.

Here are a few examples…
